Red food colour was introduced into a stream of water flowing through a 50ml burette.
The burette was arranged almost horizontal, with the water fed into one end (left hand side on the movie) from a bucket. Gravity feed.
The red food colour was injected from a 2ml syringe, submerged under water in the bucket and inserted into the open mouth of the burette. Thus, the erratic shaking of the red food colour stream was primarily due to shaking of my hand holding the syringe and trying to steadily push in the plunger.
A neodymium magnet was brought close to the side of the burette to see if it had any effect on the water flowing through the burette &/or the red food colour.
Does it? Does the neodymium magnet affect the water flowing through the burette?
The evidence is a bit shaky, but I don’t think so. I may be wrong.
The neodymium magnet would have attracted the steel needle on the end of the syringe used to inject the red food colour ( approx. 2 cm long).
make this a full time job lol
